Our client, a public tax and accounting advisory firm in NYC, is hiring a Senior Associate to join their growing team. Not your typical public accounting firm, this company treats their employees (and their time) with respect. They invest a lot in you as a Senior Associate, so they work hard to maintain a culture where you're heard and nurtured, and also challenged to grow.
As a Senior Associate you will engage in tax, accounting, audit and advisory services focusing on small and mid-sized businesses. You will spend about 70% of your time around the tax world, both corporate and personal (planning, projecting and prep) and about 30% in accounting / audit advisory. The firm does the books for many of their clients and are true advisors and partners to the businesses they serve.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years relevant (and recent) tax and accounting experience in a small to mid-sized public accounting firm as a generalist
- Proficiency in ProSystem Tax and/or Engagement (QuickBooks or Xero is also strongly preferred)
- A great willingness and desire to be a problem-solver, trusted advisor and consummate team player
- An ability to communicate effectively - by phone and in person - with clients
