Andrés Pazmino is a government relations specialist at Capalino+Company, one of New York City’s premier government relations firm.
Andrés moved alone to NYC as a teenager from his native Ecuador. He held a wide range of jobs while saving money to pay for his college education. He attended Hunter College, where he learned the basic theories of public service, graduating with a major in Political Science and a minor in Public Policy. He is also completing his Master Degree in Public Administration at Baruch College.
After graduating, he worked in the New York State Assembly and State Senate, where he applied his academic knowledge. In 2015, he joined Capalino+Company, where he assists Capalino’s clientele in a variety of capacities including securing funding for not-for-profits, crafting legislative strategies in the city and state government, and coordinating community engagement for development projects.
Andres started his career in the New York Senate in 2012. From 2012 to 2014, he started his career with New York Senator José M. Serrano. tuent Liaison in which he was responsible in representing and understanding the needs of constituents from the Upper West Side of Manhattan as well as organizing events for the benefits of all constituents across Senator Serrano’s district.
While his focus has been local, his experience extends to the international arena. In 2009, he was part of the Mission of Chile to the United Nations where he oversaw different tasks pertaining to different committees. Thanks to his international background, he is fluent in English, Spanish, Korean and currently learning German.
