A lively, indoor/outdoor destination for Italian cuisine at Moxy Chelsea, Feroce is a new concept from Francesco Panella of Antica Pesa, the legendary restaurant in Rome and Brooklyn, and TAO Group. The dining room, designed in a palette of jewel tones and cognac, includes intimate round booths as well as outdoor seating and a private dining room. Featuring both classic Italian dishes and modern interpretations, the ristorante’s lunch and dinner menus reflect the cuisine found across Italy by using ingredients imported from historic brands and small producers as well as fresh produce sourced from local purveyors in New York. Dishes from a variety of Italian regions change with the seasons, like Risotto Asparagi e Burrata, made with carnaroli rice, fresh asparagus, and creamy burrata cheese; Casarecce alla Luciana, homemade pasta made with semola flour imported from Sicily’s Molini Del Ponte, topped with Mediterranean octopus, capers from Pantelleria, Tuscan Taggiasca olives, D.O.P. Piennolo tomatoes, caper leaves and caper popcorn; and Filetto di Branzino, potato-crusted sea bass roasted and served on a vanilla-scented cauliflower purée. Servers slice artisan salumi to order and dole out digestivi from a grappa cart that roves the dining room.
