Overview

Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) seeks an energetic, creative, motivated and dedicated professional for the full-time position of Project Manager, NYC Culture Pass. Reporting to BPL’s Chief Strategy Officer and working closely with the Strategic Planning team, this position oversees the development, execution and ongoing management for the NYC Culture Pass program launching in early 2018. A new partnership between the city’s public libraries and cultural organizations, the program will make it possible for library cardholders from across the five boroughs to check out free day passes to participating museums and other cultural venues via an online portal. Though spanning three different library systems (BPL, New York Public Library, and Queens Library), the NYC Culture Pass program will be a single, citywide service, with one identity and one promotion strategy. The program manager will oversee targeted promotion efforts in underserved communities, and will work with participating organizations to highlight specific collections and exhibitions through the program’s website and at select libraries.

  • Developing and leading collaboration among key library stakeholders via online and face-to-face meetings, and site visits
  • Manage the allocation of passes and relevant constraints on pass reservations for each participating cultural institution
  • Coordinate the training of librarians across all three systems in creating and updating age-specific booklists and assisting patrons on how to use the new reservation system
  • In collaboration with the Marketing and Design departments, develop brochures and other promotional material for the public and coordinate approvals from stakeholders
  • Coordinate PR efforts with the libraries and cultural partners for the program launch
  • Arrange and oversee implementation of pertinent events and special program opportunities
  • Prepare analytic reports on Culture Pass use for the libraries
